Take a look at the prestige and timeless piece in menswear.
The Ivy League Blazer has been a very classic piece in menswear for many years. Originally worn as uniforms for eight private institutions in a collegiate athletic conference called the "Ivy League". The look then after was seen outside of campus and later became a fashion statement. The blazer has a crest usually located on the front of the coat right outside of the breast pocket. The crest makes it stylish and gives it an entire preppy look and feel.
The Ivy League Blazer can be styled semi-casual and dressed up, but never for formal looks. They are super versatile and work best with chino pants because of the ability to give off a dressy suit look without wearing a full suit. Look below and see how Tom, Aaron, & myself styled the Ivy League Blazer.
Tom
For the Tom I styled the gray Ivy League Blazer with a pair of navy chino pants. A white fitted dressed shirt is aways a classic look and works great with making the striped necktie pop a little. The red belt is just a fun way to give an outfit some type of detail pop.
Loafers are the perfect dress shoes to not wear socks and still look classy and is usually my first option when I decide to wear wear them. By wearing the navy pants, navy shoes, and navy pocket square it allows the blazer to stand more. Then last the green and gray colors in the necktie along with the red belt keeps the outfit from being boring.
Aaron
For Aaron I added a tan vest to change up the outfit for a 3 piece look. I also switched out the navy pocket square for a red one and last I added a tie clip.
Norris
I switched out the white dress shirt with a green pinstripe and added a red/navy striped bow tie. I also replaced the navy chinos with a blue pair. This made the blazer blend in with the outfit to allow other details to stand out.
I put on my pink rose lapel pin because it adds an additional color to my blazer and overall chest area. The tiger print pocket square works by matching the tan color in my vest.
The red socks and navy tassel loafers coordinate well with the red/navy bow tie and become the focal point of the outfit. The red belt once again adds more stylish detail to the look.
